Notable among these are: Genesis Worldwide Group of Companies engaging in oil & Gas, Securiforce Logistics Limited (a Nigerian based foreign security and logistics company), Tomaro Island Management Company FZC helping in processing for approval of license as a Free Trade Zone in Nigeria, YSG Global Energy Company Ltd, processing for approval for License by the Department of Petroleum Resources to operate an Oil and Gas Tank Farm Facility.
We are also retained by the Pension Commission of Nigeria, Access Bank of Nigeria, as well as the Corporate Affairs Commission in this regard. -
Insurance, Government & Public Sector Engagements
Ben Jones Akpan & Co., (Glorious Integrity Chambers) has worked with Barmco Insurance Consult Limited, a foremost insurance brokering firm servicing a large clientele including the Civil Defence Corps, and other several Government Parastatals and Ministries, Corporate Organizations (Akwa Ibom State Transport Company Limited, Vilena Group of Companies, and individuals.
We are also retained by the Corporate Affairs Commission, Access Bank Plc, in this regards. -
Company Secretary & Legal Advisory Roles
For some of these Companies, we act as Legal Adviser/Company Secretary (Barmco Insurance Consult Limited, Securiforce Logistics Limited, Akwa Ibom State Transport Company Limited) while for others we act as External Solicitors for example, Pension Commission of Nigeria, Corporate Affairs Commission, Integrated Oil and Gas Limited, and provide Legal framework for operation of their businesses, obtain license and regulatory permits, deal with employment laws and matters, (including conditions of service), preparation of service contract, determination of employments, etc), financial advisors on commercial transactions, among others. -
Advocacy, Litigation & Alternative Dispute Resolution Projects
Ben Jones Akpan & Co, (Glorious Integrity Chambers) has actively engaged in Advocacy and Alternative Dispute Resolution Practice. We have represented several individuals and corporate persons, for example, NNPCL, in matters before the various courts of the land. We are actively involved in litigation with cases at the High Courts, Federal High Courts, Court of Appeal, as well as the Supreme Court. We are also very active at the General Court Martial. -
Government Negotiations & High-Level Representations
Recently, we represented our Client in a non-litigation matter against a French National at the French Embassy, represented also an indigenous real estate firm at the National Assembly, as well as negotiating with Federal Capital Administration for the payment of compensation and resettlement of developers whose land were compulsorily acquired for the Centenary Project.
We also recently represented our Client, a leading indigenous Oil and Gas firm (Integrated Oil and Gas Limited) in negotiation with the Cross River State Government for waiver in respect of payments for integration into the portside scheme of the State Government which later evolved into litigation against the Government of Cross River State.
